Since I could remember I’ve always wanted to become a mom. At the early age of 14, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, better know as, PCOS. I was in constant pain and never had a regular period. I remember not understanding; what does this actually mean for me? Will I be able to have children? Many years later, after being married less than a year, my husband and I couldn’t wait to have a baby! I immediately made an appointment with my OBGYN to discuss the odds of us being able to conceive. They told me I would most likely need to take several hormonal medication to regulate my cycle (as it was totally irregular), blow out my Fallopian tubes to help the conceiving process, and be open to the idea of IUI or IVF since it’s usually the end result. I was sick, depressed, upset and physically ill from the Syndrome. It was so upsetting to think I would have to go through all of these procedures and possibly end up with nothing. After weighing all my options and taking advice from a very good friend of mine, I decided to call Greg at Rising Tide Acupuncture. I was scared, afraid, and unsure if I was “wasting time” by getting treated with “needles” rather than listening the the OBGYN. Greg was kind, reassuring, patient with me, and most off all EXTREMELY knowledgeable about my syndrome. After only the first visit, he made me feel my decision was the right decision. First, he treated me for my excessive fevers, chills, and severe body aches. My entire life I suffered from these symptoms and within a few weeks of treatment they were gone! After, he worked on regulating my menstral cycle (which has NEVER been regulated since the day of my first period). Which he regulated after only a few months of treatment. Finally, we worked on getting my body right to conceive a beautiful little baby. Greg treated me 2 times a week for several weeks. On November 21, 2016, I went for a checkup at my OBGYN to document the progress Greg and I have been making with my PCOS and to get a monthly blood test to test my levels. The appointment went as usual and they told me to call the next day for results. On November 22, 2016 at around 12 noon, my life was changed for the better..... I WAS PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!! I couldn’t believe the doctor on the other end and they couldn’t believe the news either!! Besides my husband, of course, Greg was the FIRST one to know! We continued treatment to keep me healthy and the baby healthy! For the first trimester we continued with the 2 times a week and eventually switched to once a week. I am forever indebted to Greg. I owe it all to him. I owed it all to his patience, his staff, his time, his knowledge. He is one of the greatest people and doctors I know!! Because of him, on July 21, 2017 weighing in at 8lb 13oz the most beautiful baby girl was born, Penelope Joy, the greatest gift of our lives. A HUGE thank you to Greg and his amazing staff. Without their kindness, none of this would have been possible.

I have been a patient at Rising Tide since June. Greg has been helping me with my fertility issues. Never in my life did I have regular cycles (due to PCOS- Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome), but after just 2 months my cycles are now regular. During the first week of treatment I had an internal sonogram done with my OBGYN who confirmed I had 4 large cysts on my ovaries. Just one month after beginning treatment with Greg, 3 of the cysts completely disappeared and the 4th was very small. For the first time in 2 years I went off all medications and trusted his diagnosis and treatment. I'm so glad that I did! Greg is professional, kind and SO knowledgeable. He is a master at his craft and I always leave the office feeling relaxed and calm. Greg is very responsive and answers any questions I have between sessions. I will continue with Rising Tide for many MANY years to come!
